The Four Temperaments, in colour.
30 questions · around 4 minutes · no login, no card.
Long before personality tests existed, the ancient Greeks described four temperaments — sanguine, choleric, phlegmatic and melancholic — as the underlying rhythms of human nature. Centuries on, those four still map beautifully onto the way we wear, choose and respond to colour.
Sanguine → Spring
The radiant optimist
Choleric → Autumn
The decisive force
Phlegmatic → Summer
The quiet anchor
Melancholic → Winter
The thoughtful aesthete
What it's for
This test is built to be used two ways. As a professional colour analyst, run it with a client to enrich a consultation — temperament adds depth to a hue analysis and helps you explain why some colours feel right even when the theory disagrees. As an individual, take it for yourself: it's playful, surprisingly accurate, and a lovely doorway into understanding why you reach for the colours you do.
You'll answer 30 short statements on a 1–5 scale. At the end you'll see your score across all four temperaments, a written portrait of your dominant type — your traits, strengths and struggles — and the seasonal colour family it points to. If you score highly in two types, you'll get both, side by side.
