Before you start
Turn your phone screen brightness up to maximum so you can see colours clearly. Phone cameras also tend to flatten intensity and shift warmth (most rooms add yellow, daylight adds blue) — that's why a vivid magenta can read as a dusty mauve. After you take the photo, use the sliders to bring the on-screen swatch back in line with the real fabric, then submit.

For best results
- · Shoot in bright, indirect daylight — avoid yellow lamps.
- · Fill the centre of the frame with the colour.
- · Lay fabric flat to avoid shadow distortion.
- · Use the sliders — most photos need a +20 saturation nudge.
